Life-Timers

Eating out has become quite a challenge, especially since last October. That’s when I found out I have a wheat allergy. I actually found out a few years ago, but only changed my diet for a couple months and decided I didn’t want to quit eating wheat. This time, however, I’ve managed to stick with it. Before October, it was fairly difficult to find healthy things on most restaurant menus. Add to that a wheat allergy, and the options are scarce. Between what I can’t eat and won’t eat, my roommate says I’m impossible to feed. Haha, well, I always find something. Last weekend I went on a fantastic road...

Generation iY

Since I work with college students, I was given a copy Generation iY: Save Their Future Now Before Its Too Late by Tim Elmore and told that I’d get a lot out of it. That statement couldn’t have been more true. It’s a power-packed book that I commend to anyone who interacts with people born in the 90’s. I think that’s just about everyone. The king granted his request, supplied him with materials, and wrote letters...

Grace 101

Grace. It’s not a new concept for me. I don’t think it’d be an exaggeration to say that I could sing the lyrics to at least 100 songs with the word grace in them (I imagine youcould, too). I can tell you what it means. Several Bible verses about grace also come to mind. At the top of the list: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). So, grace is a pretty familiar concept for this churched girl. Except that to me, right now, grace feels brand new. It’s like I’m...
